Fender American Vintage II 1957 Stratocaster (2-Color Sunburst)
Founded in the United States in 1945, the company has produced models such as the “Telecaster” and “Stratocaster” that have been used by many legendary guitarists in the history of electric guitars, and
even now, 80 years later, it is still loved by artists at the forefront, and is a leading guitar brand that leads the electric guitar industry.
This model is from the “American Vintage” series produced in the United States. It is a model
that represents the essence of USA Fender, focusing on the year of release of each legendary model that revolutionized the history of the electric guitar industry, and faithfully and accurately reproducing the specifications of the time.
Since its release in 1982, it has been loved by many players, and although production was discontinued in 2018, it has been revived in 2022 as the long-awaited “American Vintage II”.
This model is a faithful reproduction of the 1957 model, one of the turning points for Stratocasters.
The alder body features a slightly rounded and sticky middle, the 1957 “V” shaped maple neck with a grippy feel, and the same tight 7.25 inch radius as at the time.
The paint is also finished with a nitrocellulose lacquer finish as in 1957.
Compared to the poly paint used in other USA Fender models, the paint film is thinner, and the finish allows you to make the most of the natural sound of the wood.
This painting method is only used for expensive instruments because the process of drying and applying multiple coats takes time and effort, but
it is used for the “American Vintage” series because of the concept of “faithfully and accurately reproducing the specifications of the time.”
In addition, because the coating is thin, it is the ideal painting method for this model, which allows you to enjoy the vintage sound and changes in appearance such as cracking and fading due to aging.
*Because it is a delicate finish, please be careful especially with rubber materials used in guitar stands.
The pickup is also equipped with the “Fender Pure Vintage ’57 Stratocaster” which uses Alnico 5 magnets, cross wires, and fiber bobbins, the same structure as in 1957. It
has bright highs, warm and punchy lows, and an overall three-dimensional sound.
