? The history of the PRS SE series began in 2001. Development began when legendary guitarist Carlos Santana, who has been using PRS guitars mainly since around 1982, suggested that “Can we make a guitar that offers the high quality of PRS at a low price that even students can afford?” and the first SE model, the Santana SE, was released in 2001. Therefore, the SE series is an abbreviation of “Student Edition” and “Santana Edition”.

After repeated upgrades and quality improvements, the SE series is now not just a cheap version, but a guitar with such high quality that it is called “a guitar that can actually be used in professional situations”, and has established itself as a series that expands the appeal and options of PRS Guitars. The SE series, which began production in Indonesia in 2019, has improved in quality even more than the Korean-made SE series up to that point, and now SE series collectors have appeared.

Although there are differences in the quality of wood, paint, and parts compared to the USA-made PRS, engineers are frequently dispatched from PRS headquarters to provide direct guidance, and as a result, the production line is produced through the same manufacturing process as the USA factory.
