This model embodies PRS’s tireless research.

The McCarty 594, a 10-top model, meticulously incorporates the research of Paul Reed Smith, a master of vintage guitars. Its beautifully balanced grain is a beautiful 10-top grade.

The scale length is 24.594 inches, based on the measurements of a ’50s Les Paul owned by Paul Reed Smith. This slightly shorter scale length than the commonly accepted 24.75 inches delivers a unique sense of tension and a truly satisfying playing feel.

The newly developed “Tweaked Phase III” tuning pegs minimize string vibration loss at the tuners and maximize vibration transmission to the body.

The neck shape is a meticulous “Pattern Vintage” replica of the neck shape of Ted McCarty’s 1953 Les Paul. While thick, it tapers gradually toward the upper registers, providing a comfortable grip and exceptional playability. The newly developed 58/15LT (Low Turn) pickups are also included. This pickup’s deliberately low output produces a clear, warm, and pleasantly singing sound, creating a PRS-style vintage pickup reminiscent of ’58 humbuckers.

The toggle switch isn’t located near the controls as on traditional PRS pickups, but is instead located on the horn on the 6th string, similar to the traditional Single Cut pickup, aiming to recreate vintage tones through the length of the lead wire.

This outstanding model overturns the image of PRS, known for its hi-fi sound. It’s a must-try for Les Paul fans.

While there’s a small scratch on the head of the 4th-string tuning machine, overall it’s in excellent condition with minimal signs of use and only minor scuffs.

It has been maintained and cleaned at our repair center, and playability is excellent.
