Description

The 594 can be considered a vintage line in the PRS lineup. This is a slightly slender figured top reminiscent of the old PRS. It has a solid depth like a 10 top and moves depending on the angle. The coloring is “Tri-Color Sunburst”, which is usually used for bolt-on models. As the name suggests, it is composed of three colors: black, red and yellow, and the back is painted black while the outer circumference of the top is natural binding. Combined with the wonderful top, it achieves a high-class feel that is typical of PRS and a presence that is typical of the vintage line.

The neck shape is also “Pattern Vintage”. It is characterized by an asymmetric curve that is slightly thicker based on the Pattern neck, with the treble string side slightly shaved and the bass string side slightly thicker, and it is a thick neck shape that allows you to enjoy the vintage feeling that allows you to enjoy the rich vibes of mahogany. Another thing you can’t miss is the binding on both sides of the neck! It perfectly realizes the visual rivalry with the champion and a sense of luxury!

The main feature of the 2025 specification is the installation of McCarty III pickups. This McCarty III pickup is the product of all of PRS’s recent research and development knowledge and experience in pickups, from research into rare vintage pickups to analysis of pickup frequency characteristics and improvements to tuning technology. Both pickups are made of Alnico II, with DC resistances of approximately 8.0k and 8.03k from the neck side (manufacturer’s published values). This humbucker is inspired by vintage guitars and has a warm, rich vintage sound and a clear, clear tone like a singing voice.

The controls are also as good as those of a champion, with a 2Volume/2Tone specification and a coil tap for each pickup individually by pulling the tone knob. It is very easy to use and has a wide variety of sounds, so it will definitely be useful in many situations! The coil tap sound is also very musical without being too harsh on the ears. Also, unlike single-cut models such as the 245, the positions of the 2Volume/2Tone are the same as those of a Les Paul, which is a great pleasure.
The bridge is a two-piece, octave adjustable, and the tension can be controlled with the tailpiece.

My first impression was that the body contour area was smaller, so it doesn’t fit as well as the traditional PRS, but it’s the best fit for Les Paul players. The neck feeling is also thick, but I think that Les Paul players, especially those who use custom shop grade guitars, will be convinced that this is the one for them. The sound has a wide range, the compression is light, and it responds crisply to the player’s movements, so Les Paul players should definitely experience it! By the way, it does not have the high-pass capacitor that is usually installed on PRS guitars, so the ability to control the volume with a vintage feel is one of the points that cannot be overlooked.
