Celebrating PRS’s 40th anniversary, the 40th Anniversary Custom 24-08 Semi-Hollow Limited Edition is here!

The Custom 24-08 retains the core specifications of the original Custom 24, PRS’s flagship model since 1985, while featuring the latest TCI pickups and an EQ mini-toggle switch for enhanced sonic versatility. This Limited Edition model differs from the regular model in special features, including a semi-hollow construction, ziricote fingerboard and headstock veneer, and old-school bird inlays.

This model features a 10-top-grade figured maple top, mahogany back and neck, and ziricote fingerboard, all of which undergo PRS’s proprietary wood-drying process to ensure a stable neck that is resistant to environmental changes and a body that maximizes string vibration. Furthermore, the semi-hollow construction with F-holes not only enhances its elegant looks, but also produces a rich, full-bodied tone.

Another key feature of this model is the latest TCI pickups, which use new American-made alnico magnets and updated manufacturing processes to produce a more articulate, musical sound. The two EQ mini-toggle switches function as high-pass filters, shelving the low frequencies and enhancing the high frequencies for a clearer, more musical sound. We developed these EQ switches for the Private Stock John McLaughlin model, released in 2023, and at the time, John and I felt that the sound they provided was crucial and exceptionally valuable for that model.
