Celebrating PRS’s 40th anniversary, the 40th Anniversary Custom 24-08 Semi-Hollow Limited Edition is here!

While retaining the core specifications of the original Custom 24, which debuted as PRS’s flagship model in 1985, the Custom 24-08 offers even more sonic versatility with its updated TCI pickups and EQ mini-toggle switch. This Limited Edition model differs from the regular model in special features, including a semi-hollow construction, ziricote fingerboard and headstock veneer, and “old-school” bird inlays.

This model features a 10-Top grade figured maple top, mahogany back and neck, and ziricote fingerboard, all of which undergo PRS’s proprietary wood-drying process to ensure a stable neck that is resistant to environmental changes and a body that maximizes string vibration. Furthermore, the semi-hollow construction with F-holes not only enhances its elegant looks but also produces a rich, full-bodied tone.

Another key feature of this model is the latest TCI pickups, which use new American-made alnico magnets and updated manufacturing processes to produce a more articulate, musical sound. The two EQ mini-toggle switches function as high-pass filters, shelving the low frequencies and enhancing the high frequencies for a clearer, more musical sound.

“We developed this EQ switch for the Private Stock John McLaughlin model, released in 2023, and at the time, John and I felt that the sound it enabled played a vital and impressive role in that model. We’re thrilled to now be able to offer this switch in a wider range of models, not just the Private Stock John McLaughlin Limited Edition,” said Paul Reed Smith.

The familiar PRS 24-fret, 25-inch scale neck provides intuitive playability right from the moment you pick it up, while the original Gen III tremolo and Phase III locking tuners provide exceptional tuning stability.
