can choose special options that are not available in the regular lineup, such as wood, finish, and pickups. This will result in a limited number of unique PRS guitars being produced, each made with individual specifications and special woods.

Passion and precision are what gave birth to the McCarty family. It is a fusion of vintage appointment and passion for tone with modern precision guitar building techniques. Whether you want rich, “that’s it, humbucker” tone or nuanced, sweet single-coil sounds, the McCarty Singlecut 594 has the seamless ability to dial it in with its 58/15 LT+ pickups and push/pull coil-tap tone control. The electronics layout, select key specs, and PRS craftsmanship all come together to create a guitar that’s always in tune, has precise intonation, and feels like it’s been played for years, no matter where you play on the neck.

The McCarty Singlecut 594 is crafted to provide the ultimate playing feel and warm, vintage tone. Its main specs include a 22-fret, 24.594″ scale bound Pattern Vintage neck with a slightly thicker back for more tone and sustain, and 58/15 LT+ treble and bass pickups that have been TCI (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) processed. The 58/15 LT+ pickups have an incredible tone, rich midrange and vintage character. The bridge is a two-piece zinc alloy stoptail bridge with brass saddles and studs for extra resonance, and vintage-style tuners.

late 1980s, Paul Reed Smith asked Ted McCarty to be a consultant on guitar design and manufacturing techniques. McCarty became not only a mentor, but also a dear friend to Paul and all the staff he met at PRS. In 1994, the first McCarty was released, generously incorporating the techniques and knowledge he had absorbed from Ted, as well as Ted’s own experience as a guitar builder.

And in 2024, PRS Guitars will update the tuning pegs used in many Core models to improve sound quality. The new wing button, designed with the motif of a bird inlay with wings spread at the 12th fret, is lighter than the previous metal peg button, reducing the loss of string vibration while producing a longer sustain and a more musical sound. And the adoption of non-locking tuners in non-tremolo models has also led to further weight reduction.

This individual uses 10Top grade quilted maple for the top material. Korina is used for the body back.

Korina is used for the neck material, just like the body back. The neck pattern is “Pattern Vintage”. Based on the Pattern neck profile, the neck is slightly thicker while the width is the same, the treble string side is slightly shaved, and the bass string side is slightly thicker, giving it an “asymmetric curve” shape that provides a very good grip and allows for stable fingering.

The fingerboard is made of shiny ebony. The Wood Library is unique in that it can be manufactured with specifications that are not available in regular models.

The pickup is equipped with “McCarty III”, which produces a warm and rich vintage sound.
The McCarty III pickup is packed with all the know-how that Paul Reed Smith and the PRS new product engineering team have cultivated in recent product development, from long-term research into vintage pickups to improvements in pickup sound analysis and tuning technology.
