The Modern Eagle V features a 22-fret, 25-inch scale, maple top, mahogany back, patterned mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, bone nut, and PRS Gen III tremolo.

Also in 2024, PRS Guitars updated the tuning pegs used on many Core models to improve sound.

The new wing button, designed with a bird inlay at the 12th fret, is lighter than the previous metal peg button and reduces string vibration loss, producing longer sustain and a more musical sound.

While the seemingly complicated switching arrangement consists of a 5-way blade switch and two mini toggle switches, it operates essentially the same as the 509. The 5-way blade switch operates in the following ways: (1) rear, (2) rear + center, (3) center, (4) center + front, and (5) front. The two mini toggle switches directly adjacent to the blade switch coil-tap each humbucker pickup.

The tone control also features a push/pull mechanism, allowing you to output both humbuckers when engaged. This allows you to access all three pickups simultaneously.

The pickups are TCI pickups, a low-output masterpiece featured in the new Paul’s Guitar introduced at the 2018 Experience PRS event, in the bridge and neck positions, and an NS-01 single-coil center pickup positioned slightly toward the front.
This allows for a wide range of sounds, from vintage-feeling single-coil sounds previously unavailable in previous guitars to modern, clear tones, making this the most versatile guitar of all time.
