The Hollowbody II Piezo combines maple for the body top and back and mahogany for the side wood, creating a transparent sound with rich overtones comparable to a full-size hollowbody guitar, and the 25-inch scale neck with 22 frets provides high playability, making it one of PRS’s most popular CORE models.

The Hollowbody II, equipped with PRS’s new McCarty III pickup, produces a warm and rich vintage sound, and when combined with the standard LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system, you can cover the sounds of both acoustic and electric guitars with just one guitar. This model also has two outputs, allowing you to output the sound of each pickup to an electric guitar amplifier and an acoustic guitar amplifier (or DI) independently. And with the independent blend control, you can output a unique sound that blends the vintage sound of the McCarty III pickup with the acoustic sound of the piezo pickup from one output. The sound changes greatly depending on the blend, so the range of sound making is wider than ever before. Equipped with

a piezo pickup, the Hollowbody II Piezo allows for a much more diverse range of sound making than conventional hollowbody guitars, and will be a new option for guitarists who love hollowbody guitars.

The difference from the McCarty 594 Hollowbody II is that the neck shape is “Pattern” used by McCarty, there is no coil tap, and there is no fingerboard binding, giving it a clean look.
The scale is standard 25 inches, and the strings are set up at .011-.049.

The pickup is the newly developed “McCarty III” pickup.

Designed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS new product development engineering team, the McCarty III pickup incorporates all of PRS’s knowledge and experience in pickups, from studying rare vintage pickups to analyzing the frequency characteristics of pickups and improving tuning techniques. The

PRS McCarty III pickup is a humbucker inspired by vintage guitars, and combines a warm, rich vintage sound with a clear, singing tone.

The grain and sound are excellent, and it is also very lightweight, which may be natural given its structure.
The softness of the sound is exceptional, and it is a model that is mainly useful in music such as jazz fusion, which uses a lot of clean sounds.
