The Custom 24-08, featuring new TCI pickups and a high-pass filter, is now available at our Ochanomizu store! The Custom 24 is synonymous with PRS and has been a core PRS model since its introduction at Winter NAMM in 1985. While retaining the core specifications of

the Custom 24—maple top, mahogany back and neck, 24 frets, 25-inch scale, PRS’s original Gen III tremolo unit, and newly designed Phase III tuners with wing buttons—the Custom 24-08 offers eight diverse sound options thanks to the TCI pickups and EQ mini toggle switch. Despite its humbucker construction, the TCI pickups produce a thick, vibrant sound reminiscent of single-coil or soap bar pickups. The EQ mini-toggle switch, when engaged (upper position), activates a high-pass filter, shelving the low frequencies and creating a clearer, more musical tone in the high frequencies. PRS offers high playability and reliability, as well as a wide range of sound-shaping possibilities. Check out the Custom 24-08. [Specification] By switching from the previous 85/15 pickups to TCI pickups, the Custom 24-08 produces a clear, musical sound with a rich attack and core. It also features rich dynamics, responds well to the player’s touch and picking style, capturing subtle nuances and enabling expressive playing. While the pickup shape might be categorized as a “mini-humbucker,” the sound is more reminiscent of a “P-90.” While the previous model already had a well-rounded sound, I was surprised to see how far it had come.
