PRS 2008 Limited Run 57/08 McCarty (Cranberry)

The Limited Run 57/08 McCarty, limited to just 150 pieces produced in 2008, is now in stock! This

limited edition model was announced at the “2008 Experience PRS” event held at PRS headquarters in the United States.

Only about 20 were shipped to Japan at the time, making it a rare find.

The body top is crafted from beautiful 10-grade quilted maple.

The back and neck are crafted from lightweight mahogany and Peruvian mahogany, the same materials used in the newly announced Al Di Meola signature guitar.

The fingerboard is also crafted from black rosewood, the same material used in the Al Di Meola signature guitar.

The lightweight mahogany back contributes to the guitar’s exceptional lightness, weighing in at just 3.43 kg!

The denser woods used in the neck and fingerboard contribute to its powerful, crisp sound.

The original pickups were 57/08s, a new model at the time, but

the previous owner replaced both the neck and bridge pickups with Shur Aldridges. The tone knob is push-pull and features a coil tap function.

The body has some slight cloudiness, but rather than being pure white, it has a natural faded look, reminiscent of

the company’s often-used gradation finish.

While there are signs of wear such as scratches and dents, the instrument was inspected and fully adjusted by a professional repair technician upon arrival, and is in excellent playing condition.

The original hard case and bird tag are included.

The signed backplate with the limited serial number is missing.
