Description

This instrument was ordered in April 2023 by our staff at the “Private Stock” Wood Stock Vault in the PRS US factory using a number of tonewoods hand-picked and selected by our staff! It has a special body structure with a McCarty Thickness body thickness and no contour specification, and the wood material is a very impactful color named “Blood Red Fade & Frostbite Fade”. The top is made of the finest quilted maple with a wide swell and waist purfling that will not be available for order in 2023. The middle wood is African mahogany and the back wood is chic ziricote, giving it different charms on the front and back.

The neck is a solid flamed mahogany neck that is sure to please Private Stock, and the fingerboard is jet black ebony. The eagle on the headstock and the inlay on the fingerboard are made of flame maple that matches the color of the center of the body, and the outer periphery is decorated with green ripple abalone, creating a design that shows attention to detail. The fingerboard, headstock, and truss rod cover are also purfled with green ripple abalone, and the back plate and truss rod cover are made of the same material as the back material and fingerboard material, respectively, resulting in a uniform and luxurious instrument that can only be achieved by Private Stock, which is not possible with the regular line. The paint, which has a significant impact on the sound and appearance, is applied with a specially formulated “Hi Gloss Nitro Finish” for Private Stock, which maximizes the unique beauty of PRS without compromising the sound of the wood. You can also enjoy the change in sound as the paint blends in more over time.

The pickups are 85/15, and by matching them with the best materials, it outputs a rich, high-quality PRS sound with a fast attack and good grain! The sound image has a thick outline and a slightly mellow impression in the highs, probably due to the thickness of the body and the no-contour specification, and has a traditional feel. In addition, two mini switches allow coil tapping, allowing for a variety of performance expressions from brilliant clean tones to heavy distortion sounds. As for the condition, there are very fine scratches and slight dullness unique to smoke black parts, but the feeling of use is thin and the appearance is in very good condition. There are no noticeable unevenness on the frets, and there is plenty of room for tightening the truss rod, so you can continue to use it for a long time.
