Description

The “STUDIO” model was first introduced by PRS in 1988. At the time, it was a traditional SSH type with two regular single coils and one humbucker, and
there were models with solid mahogany specifications and models with maple tops like the current model, but the production period was very short, only three years.
After that, with the completion of PRS’s unique pickup “Narrowfield”, the current “STUDIO” type was revived as one of the PRS 25th Anniversary Limited Models in 2010.
After that, it was removed from the catalog model for several years, but finally in 2021,
the “STUDIO” model will be released with the newly introduced TCI system “Narrowfield” (front & center) pickup and the 58/15 LT humbucker also by TCI on the rear.

The beautiful curly maple top and mahogany back body is a little thicker than the Custom,
and the mahogany and rosewood fingerboard neck features a Pattern grip with a firm grip.

The front and center “Narrowfield” pickups are stepped in shape, and the distance from the magnet to the strings is kept the same as the arch of the fingerboard.
Although it is a small detail, it is possible to obtain a more balanced tone by making the volume of the entire string uniform.

The “STUDIO” model is a modern take on the traditional SSH-type guitar, and
boasts the bright, punchy tone that only a single coil can provide, as well as the sticky sound that’s typical of PRS when distorted.
Push/Pull tone (rear PU coil tap) and 5-way selector allow for seven different sound output options.

The color is originally a Private Stock color “Aquamarine”, which brings out the beautiful grain of the 10 top grade curly maple top.
