Glenn Hughes has been an Orange artist for over 10 years. Together with Glenn Hughes, Orange Amps is pleased to release the Glenn Hughes Signature CRUSH BASS 50.
In 2016, Hughes was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Deep Purple. He released three studio albums as a member of Deep Purple in the mid-70s.
Glenn is known as the bassist and vocalist for Trapeze, Black Country Communion with Joe Bonamassa, California Breed, and most recently The Dead Daisies

The Crush Bass 50 combo amp is inspired by Orange’s flagship bass amps, the AD200 and OB1, perfectly blending some of the most distinctive elements of each.
With the essence of a recording amp, it offers warm, clean bass tones, vintage drive tones with fat low end and blendable overdrive.
Like the rest of the Crush Bass series, this 50W model delivers bold, punchy lows thanks to its analog circuitry and ported cabinet. It
‘s packed with useful features, including a buffered effects loop, built-in tuner, AUX input, and headphone output with Cabsim circuitry.

The Crush Bass 50 features an EQ circuit inspired by the legendary 4 Stroke series amplifiers.
At its heart is a parametric mid band. This allows for much more advanced sound control than traditional EQs, allowing you to change the frequency band you want to hear.
The mid band covers a wide range from 300Hz to 2.7kHz, allowing you to fine-tune to suit any musical style. The active circuitry allows for up to 15dB of boost/cut in the low and mid frequencies, and up to 20dB in the high frequencies.

The OB1 series amplifier features Blend and Gain controls inspired by the popular OB1 series amplifiers. In this “bi-amp” setup, layers of harmonics and distortion from the guitar amp blend with the core tone of the bass to create the ultimate full-range live sound. The Crush Bass 50’s Gain and Blend controls achieve the same effect in one package, adding extra bite and definition to your tone at low gain settings, or fully distorted when dialed all the way in.
These controls can also be operated remotely with the optional FS-1 footswitch, making them a great way to thicken up your tone depending on the situation.

The Crush Bass series provides a fat, rounded sound with an all-analog signal path. The Crush Bass 50 features a 12-inch speaker with a reflex port for improved bass response.
The buffered effects loop is designed for maximum transparency, ensuring your pedals perform at their best.

The headphone output features a Cabsim circuit that emulates the response of an OBC bass speaker cabinet used on stage when practicing. You can
also send this signal to a console for full-scale direct recording.
The Aux input allows you to connect an external audio source for backing tracks, and the convenient on-board tuner allows you to quickly tune between jams.
