Description
Hermes is made so that more players can pick up all of Kikuchi’s craftsmanship. A model that combines an ash body and a rose fingerboard is now available.
Kikuchi Guitars was born 30 years after Japan’s leading luthier, Yoshiyuki Kikuchi, visited Roger Sadowsky, one of the world’s most famous master craftsmen. You can fully experience the knowledge of the instrument that has been deepened while accurately inheriting Sadowsky-ism.
This “Hermes” series is the standard series of the brand. While the basic specifications and manufacturing quality are almost the same as those of the custom model, the regular model with fixed specifications achieves high cost performance.
We invite you to try the world-class sound and playability of Kikuchi Guitars, a brand that is the culmination of Kikuchi’s knowledge and experience with Sadowsky and Three Dots Guitars.
Neck
The neck is stronger and the head is thicker to create the optimal sound of the instrument and the weight balance when playing. With a thinner nut width than the general J style, and a neck grip that is moderately thick for durability and playability, and is easy to grip, you can play smoothly from low to high positions and even mute 5-strings with a wide neck width.
In addition, by adopting frets, which are the hardest frets, the noise generated when the frets are pressed is reduced, and a punchy sound is produced even though it is a nickel fret. The number of frets is 22F to accommodate a wide range of music genres. By designing the neck joint position deeper to the bridge side without extreme brim processing, it is possible to play with the feel of a 21F bass.
The string heights are set up uniformly at all fret positions to accommodate a variety of playing styles and musical genres, so you can play a powerful tone for strong picking and a warm, enveloping tone for gentle stroking fingering.
Body
Dinky shape with a redesigned body shape so that even Japan people can play without stress. Not only does it have a good handling that plays a modern tone, but the solid body with just the right amount of weight plays a tone with good pronunciation and creates a variety of tone variations.
Hardware
Lightweight and easy-to-operate Hipshot parts used in the Custom Series are placed on each part to convey the characteristics of the wood in a straightforward manner and create a more natural sound.
Equipped with a custom model made by DiMarzio, which is also used in the Custom Series. It is a sharp, crisp, powerful, and noise-reducing hum cancellation pickup.
Preamp In order to achieve the best tone that Kikuchi idealizes, we have installed an original preamp that is also used in the Custom Series, which was developed in collaboration with the world’s best design manufacturers. When boosting, the bass and treble are designed to scoop up a clear, natural tone and midrange at any setting, and to reduce the difference in audible volume and sound quality as much as possible when switching between passive and active.
