Steve himself positions it as “the evolution of the JEM” and names his signature model “PIA3761” “PIA: Paradise in Art”.
The body is made of alder like the JEM, but the body design has new attention to detail, such as the body edge, contour, and horn.

~Features~
●Symbolic “Petal Grip” designed with the image of petals nestling together
The grip design, which is likely to be the most striking feature of PIA, is carved to look like two petals nestling together.
Steve sees this as a visual representation of two things connecting with each other while creating a synergistic effect, and at the same time, he thinks it is an important symbol of unity, friendship, and solidarity between people.

●PIA neck is made of 5 pieces of maple/walnut wood, shaped to the grip that Steve prefers, just like the JEM

●”PIA Blossom inlay” is an art that symbolizes the Steve Vai model along with the grip .
Not to mention the Tree of Life inlay, which was a trademark of the JEM, this is a new inlay designed exclusively for the PIA, featuring the elegant and beautiful botanical design image that Steve often mentions in his own art.
The fingerboard is made of rosewood, and the side position marks are made of phosphorescent Luminlay.

●Scalloped fingerboard (21-24 frets)
A scalloped fingerboard is used, with the high frets scooped.
The frets are jumbo-sized stainless steel frets with Prestige fret edge treatment.

●USA-made DiMarzio(R) UtoPIA(TM) pickups designed for the PIA . Based
on Steve’s recent preference for tone, these pickups are specially designed to provide smoother highs, scooped mids, and clear lows.
All pickup covers are beautifully decorated to perfectly match the design concept of the guitar. ●

Edge tremolo bridge
. Ibanez’s original tremolo, Edge, which Steve has been using for over 30 years .
