Thanks to the improvements in painting technology that Gibson USA has been working on in recent years, it has become possible to adopt a variety of colors.
Inspired by Gibson’s custom colors of the 1960s, the USA product development team has adopted not only those historic colors that are Gibson’s design, but also modern colors that have been popular in recent years and new ideas.

The SG Standard 61 reproduces the specifications when the SG was introduced in 1961.
The SG Standard 61 is a return to the classic design that continues to create, play and love sounds across generations and musical genres.
In 1961, the Les Paul model was discontinued, and the all-new design evolved into the model known today as the SG or “solid guitar”.
It follows the original style, featuring a slim taper mahogany neck that is thin and easy to play, and a rosewood fingerboard with binding.
The short tenon joint that joins the body near the 22nd fret allows you to enjoy a tight sound.
The nickel-plated hardware is equipped with a classic style Tune-O-Matic bridge and keystone tuners. It is
equipped with a 60s Burstbucker (61R/61T) pickup set using Alnico V magnets, and uses a 5-ply teardrop pickguard that has many die-hard fans.
The controls use audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors.
This is a 61-style SG standard that captures the charm of the old SG with modern technology.
A hardshell case is included.
