Gibson Les Paul Standard ’60s (Iced Tea)
Description
It is no exaggeration to say that the Les Paul Standard is the most beloved model by guitarists in Gibson’s long history.
Since its introduction in the 1950s, various models have been released, but it is a model that will continue to be loved today and in the future without changing its shape.
The 60’s in the Les Paul Standard 60’s refers to the 1960s, and this model is a modern version of the standard that is packed with the specifications of that era.
The body and neck are made of mahogany, which is indispensable for Les Pauls. By combining each part with glue, the vibrations of the strings are firmly contained in the guitar body, creating the raw sound, sound extension, and sustain caused by the reverberation of the vibrations that are unique to Les Pauls.
The body top is made of AA-grade figured maple. The appearance changes depending on the viewing angle, so it’s fun to not only play but also to watch. The
neck shape is a feature of the 60s model. In the 60s, the neck was slimmed down, and the neck that is thick and firm to the touch that is typical of Les Pauls has been slimmed down to a slim taper shape.
Combined with the rosewood fingerboard, it is easy to play and has a solid bass feel with a solid mid-low range. You can enjoy a sweet and thick front sound that is not too crushed even when matched with a drive sound, and a treble and bite-like bass sound in the rear.
The metal parts are also carefully selected, such as the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum stop tailpiece, and Grover Rotomatic kidney tuner burst bucker.
The pickups are Burstbucker 61R and Burstbucker 61T, which reproduce the humbuckers from the early 1960s, producing an energetic and slightly sharp sound.
