The SG Standard 61 returns to a classic design that continues to create, play, and love sounds across generations and musical genres.
In 1961, the Les Paul model was discontinued, and a completely new design evolved into the model known today as the SG or “solid guitar”.
The thin, easy-to-play slim tapered mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard, and short tenon joint that joins the body near the 22nd fret provide a tight sound. Equipped
with a 60s Burstbucker (61R/61T) pickup set using Alnico V magnets, and a 5-ply teardrop pickguard that has many die-hard fans.
The controls use an audio taper potentiometer and an Orange Drop capacitor.
