Description

This model is a limited edition product selected locally, with realistic aging by Murphy Lab and a Maestro Vibratola.

The body is made of maple/poplar/maple plywood for the top and back, and maple for the center block. The unique structure of a solid center on both sides of the hollow gives it a sense of airiness unique to box-type guitars, while also providing a comfortable attack and lightness.
In addition, the multi-ply binding, which is also a distinctive feature in terms of appearance, is thicker than the binding of the ES-335, and physically tightens the outer circumference of the body, so the sound is tighter than the ES-335.

The neck is made of mahogany and has a moderately thick shape that is easy to hold but not too thin, but unlike the ES-335, the fingerboard is made of ebony with block position marks. The head is also a large size, one size larger than the ES-335, and the outer circumference is bound with multi-ply binding like the body, and the center of the head shines with a split diamond inlay, which is a sign of a higher-end model.
Of course, following the specifications of 1959, the neck joint is a long tenon (deep joint), the truss rod is tubeless, and it is glued with hide glue, bringing out a “natural sound” from the neck to the body.

The pickup is a Custombucker. The potting is eliminated from the entire surface, including the coil part and base plate, and the newly installed Bumblebee type paper oil capacitor and 500K CTS pot that pursues a vintage curve are also installed, resulting in a sound full of a vintage feel with a more “exposed” texture.
Normally, a Varitone switch is built into the control part of the ES-355, but this model is configured without a Varitone switch. The absence of a Varitone switch reduces electrical loss and outputs a straight sound. The output jack is also a practical mono specification.

This model is equipped with the “Maestro Vibrola” as a 60s style specification.
The Maestro’s unique luxurious looks tend to catch your eye, but the unique operability, string tension, and sound…these looks and sounds create a personality that cannot be obtained with other bridges.

Murphy Lab is particular about the paint to reproduce realistic aging, and
this model has four aging levels, and the second level “Light Aged”.
Even though it is “light”, scratches are made in key places from the tip of the head to the end of the body, and the weather check that occurs over time is also applied to make it look as if it has been over 60 years. The ES-355

has an all-purpose and deep sound that can be used in a wide range of genres such as jazz, fusion, and pop, and has been an icon of blues, rock and roll in the past, and in recent years, rock guitars.
Please enjoy this gem that has been carefully crafted down to the smallest detail.
