Description
This model reproduces the specifications of the late 1960s, when the neck was thin, and features a slim, highly playable neck shape and a clear sound with good high-pitched sound.
The set neck structure is the same as that of a violin or acoustic guitar, and the two-layer body with a maple top and mahogany back is the secret to the deep, flavorful tone unique to Les Paul.
The weight relief that was adopted in recent years has been abolished, and the solid structure gives it a more vintage-taste and firm sound.
The clean tone is a clear crystal tone with little muddiness, and even when distorted deeply, the sound is not crushed, making it suitable for all genres.
When the “PAF” appeared in 1957 and the specifications of the “Les Paul” were established, the gold top coloring was adopted, and in 1958 the name was changed to “Les Paul Standard” for the first time and the cherry sunburst color was adopted. The 1959 is one of the most popular, and it is the most popular reissue model made by the custom shop.
The neck shape is a thin C shape actually scanned from a vintage guitar, and the finish is suitable for the “Les Paul Standard 60s”.
There are concerns about the influence of the thin neck on the sound, but it seems that the clear low range helps to eliminate the muddiness of the sound.
The pickup is equipped with the newly developed [Burstbucker61], which is characterized by a bright high range and a good sound extension. The number of coil turns is stable and there is little variation, recreating the pickups of the 60s, and the Alnico V magnets used at the time are also a key point.
There is a sense of separation of the sound even when playing chords, and although the output itself is not very high, it has a wide range of sound.
The board wiring has been abolished, and the wiring is hand-wired, and orange drop capacitors are used in the tone circuit.
Compared to ceramic capacitors, the sound has a rounded edge, and you can definitely feel the gloss and thickness of the sound. The paint is all lacquer using the old-fashioned “nitrocellulose lacquer”, so it is a guitar where you can feel the changes in the paint surface over time. The “Les Paul Standard” that everyone dreams of owning at least once! Why not try it out for yourself?
