Fender ISHIBASHI FSR MIJ 50s HS Telecaster with Ash Body and Grover Tuners (Black)
Description
An exclusive from Ishibashi , now available at PNP! A legend reborn over half a century later! Introducing this special TL!
This special model is packed with attention to detail!
The ever-popular “50s Telecaster with front humbucker” is crafted in a black finish with a white pickguard!
The body has been upgraded to ash!
While the current MIJ Traditional series uses basswood for the body, after careful consideration, we’ve upgraded it to 50s-style ash. While the wood typically shows the grain, this black model exudes a luxurious feel by hiding it. Enjoy the crisp, responsive sound that’s so characteristic of a Telecaster.
Modeled after Telecasters from the late ’50s, the comfortable C-shaped neck features 21 vintage frets. The fingerboard radius is 7.25″, providing a fresh feel for those accustomed to playing modern guitars. The headstock logo is also positioned higher than the wing-shaped string guide, creating a look that will please even veteran fans. The
tuning machines are Grover, a design unfamiliar to Fender guitars that typically use Kluson tuning machines. However, like the natural-colored Telecaster mentioned above, this black Telecaster is an essential element of its counterpart, the “other legend.” You’ll feel the weight of the headstock, unlike any other model, and the tuning precision unique to the through-the-back Telecaster bridge. The white Stratocaster-type switch selector is also a tribute to the legend.
Why is a humbucker pickup needed in the neck position? It has more overtones than a regular single-coil pickup, producing a thick, mellow sound while retaining the Telecaster’s signature crispness and high notes. It’s a tone that’s especially ideal for lead playing. This specification is beloved by many Fender users, including those from the USA Custom Shop and the former Fender Japan Special models, and is highly sought after.
The unique and versatile tone of the ash body, Telecaster bridge, and humbucking pickups is still essential for many guitarists, even after more than half a century since it was first used by legendary guitarists.
The bridge pickup produces crisp rhythms, while the neck pickup produces thick, sustained leads… This versatile, one-of-a-kind special model offers a level of versatility not found on traditional MIJ Telecasters. Have a great weekend with this guitar.
