Description

Founded in the United States in 1945, the company has produced models such as the “Telecaster” and “Stratocaster” that have been used by many legendary guitarists in the history of electric guitars, and
even now, 80 years later, it is still loved by artists at the forefront, and is a leading guitar brand that leads the electric guitar industry.

This model is from the “American Vintage” series produced in the United States. It is a model
that represents the true essence of USA Fender, focusing on the year of release of each legendary model that revolutionized the history of the electric guitar industry, and faithfully and accurately reproducing the specifications of the time.
Since its release in 1982, it has been loved by many players, and although production was discontinued in 2018, it has made a long-awaited comeback in 2022 as the new “American Vintage II”.

When the current Telecaster was born in 1950, it was called “Broadcaster”.
However, Gretsch owned the trademark for the drum product “BroadKaster”, and the following year in 1951, Fender was no longer able to use the name “Broadcaster”.
After that, it was named the familiar “Telecaster” at the end of 1951, and it is still loved by many artists today.

This model is a faithful reproduction of the 1951 model, which was a turning point for the Telecaster.

This model uses an ash body, which has a wider sound range and a more penetrating sound than alder or basswood, just like in the 1950s.
Ash was also used in the USA-made “American Professional” series in the past, but due to climate change in the country of origin, there has been a shortage of supply and rising prices, so roasted pine is used instead in the current model.
The body color is “Butterscotch Blonde,” a typical color of the 1951 Telecaster.
Ash is naturally white, so it can be finished in a see-through color that makes the most of the dynamic grain that cannot be experienced with other woods.
The neck is a thick, grippy 1951 “U”-shaped maple neck with a tight 7.25-inch radius, just like the original.
The spacing between the 12th fret position inlays is slightly narrow, and the Phillips head fastener is located at the truss rod nut, which are also reproduced in accordance with the manufacturing specifications of the 1951.

The paint is also finished with a nitrocellulose lacquer, just like in 1951.
Compared to the poly paint used in other Fender USA models, the paint is thinner, allowing the wood’s natural sound to be fully utilized. This
paint method is only used for expensive instruments because the process of drying and repainting takes time and effort, but it
is used in the American Vintage series because of the concept of “faithfully and accurately reproducing the specifications of the time.”
In addition, because the paint is thin, it is the ideal paint method for this model, which allows you to enjoy the vintage sound and changes in appearance such as cracking and fading due to aging.
*Because it is a delicate finish, please be careful with rubber materials used in guitar stands, etc.

The pickups also use the same structure as in 1951, alnico magnets, cross-covered wire, and fiber bobbins, resulting in
clear and transparent highs, warm midrange, and an overall three-dimensional sound.
