This model is based on the “Gibson Tak Matsumoto 1955 Les Paul Standard” released by Gibson Custom Shop in 2022, and will be released as a signature model full of the utmost respect for Takahiro Matsumoto from [Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop], which is located in the top series of the Epiphone brand.
Takahiro Matsumoto is the guitarist of B’z, and is responsible for producing and composing all songs. In parallel with his activities with B’z, he also released a variety of solo works, and in 2011 he won a Grammy Award. Along with the feat of being the first Japanese to win in the pop category, he was honored as a world-class guitarist. The
“Tak Matsumoto” custom neck profile is a slightly thinner customized version of the 1959 Les Paul Standard neck, and a deep joint method is used in which the neck joint is joined to the bottom of the front pickup. The brand logo is placed slightly lower, just like the 1955 model, and the head shape of the open book “commonly known as Gibson head”, which is indispensable for Gibson guitars, is faithfully reproduced.
The pickup, which is the key to the sound, is equipped with a Gibson Burstbucker™ PRO Alnico 5 humbucker pickup, just like the signature model made by Gibson Custom Shop, and the pots and capacitors are vintage-style vintage taper CTS® potentiometers and Grey Tiger capacitors, and the wiring is 50’s style using Switchcraft® toggle switches and output jacks. The hard
case with the logo [Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop] is a luxurious specification with Takahiro Matsumoto’s signature.
