Description

One guitar that is synonymous with Jeff Beck is the 1954 Les Paul, commonly known as “Oxblood”, which has been heavily modified. This guitar, with its unique chocolate brown/oxblood finish, became famous overnight on the cover of his solo debut album “Blow by Blow”, and sold for an astonishing $1.3 million at auction in January 2025.

In 2009, Gibson Custom released a limited edition of 50 aged versions of the “Oxblood” model, and now, in close collaboration with the Gibson Custom Shop, Epiphone is releasing the Jeff Beck Oxblood 1954 Les Paul as part of the Inspired By Gibson Custom lineup.

This model features a mahogany body with a maple cap, one-piece mahogany neck, long tenon joint, and Jeff Beck custom large C neck profile, just like the original.
The rosewood fingerboard has 22 medium jumbo frets and is decorated with aged mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays.

The headstock follows Gibson’s traditional “open book” style and features an Epiphone logo in aged mother-of-pearl.

The pickups are two USA-made Gibson Custom Bucker humbuckers, wired with 50s-style wiring along with CTS pots and Mallory capacitors, capturing the unique sound of Jeff Beck.

Other features faithful to the original include gold speed knobs, a pickguard with a gap above the bridge pickup, and a Gibson historic wraparound bridge. A
vintage-style replica strap and an Epiphone hardshell case with Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics are included. Limited quantities are produced worldwide.
