Balaguer Stratocaster HH (Satin Black) [Limited Model!]
Description
Balaguer Guitars is an emerging guitar brand started in the 2010s by guitar luthier Joe Balaguer in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA. The brand
offers production models at several affiliated OEM factories, with the American custom-ordered Heritage Series as its top line.
The name of this model, Diablo, is a Spanish word meaning devil. Among them, the Black Friday limited model is urgently available! There will be no next arrival!
As the name of the devil, which symbolizes evil, suggests, it outputs a violent sound that is perfect for HM/HR and loud rock. The
most eye-catching feature is the offset design, the beautiful satin black color, and the overwhelming looks are sure to satisfy even those outside the heavy genre! The color name is satin black. The chic design that goes well with suits and other styles will be useful not only in the heavy genre but also in other genres.
The body shape is a so-called Dinky type, but it is a little different from other guitars. It is offset (asymmetrical) and the horn is longer than other standard guitars, so it looks like a horn is being thrust. And yet, the elbow contour is firmly in place, so although it has a devilish design, it is very gentlemanly to play.
The color is satin black, but it seems a little brighter than the crushed black of other manufacturers. It is easier to see if you shine a strong light on it as in the image. The attention to color is also good.
The body is mahogany.
It may be a sound that can be called a so-called SG type.
Mahogany has a firmness in the mid-low range, depth when distorted, and a slightly warm sound overall. However, due to the characteristics of the pickup, it is not only a tight metal sound, but also a warm clean to a rough distortion that you would never imagine from the body shape. The
weight is also in the low 3kg range, which is quite just right for a guitar in this genre. It’s neither too heavy nor too light, so it’s easy to hold and has a good balance of powerful bass.
The neck is made of roasted maple bolt-on, and the fingerboard is ebony.
Roasting is a process that heats the wood and evaporates the moisture, resulting in a dry, crisp tone like vintage guitars.
The neck is slightly thin, allowing for stress-free fingering when playing fast or riffing. Of course, the satin finish makes it comfortable even when you sweat. The ebony fingerboard is also a classic choice. The fingerboard radius is 16″, which is recommended for those who want the flat feel of a metal guitar. The stainless steel frets are resistant to wear and dirt, making it convenient!
The pickups are two Hypernova Humbuckers, original by the company. It
also has a coil tap, so you can output a clear tone even when playing clean. You can
also get the so-called crystal clean sound used in modern genres.
The recommendation from the person in charge is still the distortion sound. The pickup output is 17.2K on the rear and 12.2K on the front, which is quite high output, and it does not lose its strength even when distorted, and is characterized by a thick sound like a wall.
Even when distorted strongly, the sound image is tight and tight, and depending on the amp you choose, you can get anything from a pleasant old-school high-mid sound to a brutal Djent sound.
Please buy this one, which is recommended by the metal person in charge at the Ikebukuro store and has a devilish charm.
