This stunning limited-edition model, based on the “Special Semi-Hollow” model celebrating Ikebe Musical Instrument’s 50th anniversary, is available for sale exclusively to celebrate the store’s 50th anniversary. The Wood Library series is based on guitars from the existing lineup and allows customers to customize their guitars with exclusive options, resulting in a unique, shop-specific model.

The Wood Library series is available only to select dealers, and due to various customization requirements, distribution of Wood Library models in Japan is extremely limited. However, each model boasts unique features not found in the regular lineup.

The model chosen for this Wood Library base is the Special Semi-Hollow, featuring a semi-hollow body with f-holes. This semi-hollow body construction with f-holes gives the guitar a pleasant airiness and depth.

The body top is custom-made from quilted maple, a popular material with beautiful grain.

Quilted maple, with its distinctive burl pattern, is artistically beautiful and is a highly sought-after wood for electric guitar tops.

While quilted maple is a beautiful wood, its availability has been declining in recent years. High-grade quilted maple, with its pronounced grain, has become increasingly rare, driving up its price.

For this order, we generously selected a high-grade quilted maple known as “Artist Grade,” carefully selected from PRS’s vast collection of tops. This

Artist Grade top, the next highest grade in the PRS brand, features a beautiful grain that changes appearance depending on the angle, creating a sense of three-dimensional depth. Simply looking at it allows you to appreciate the value of the instrument. The top was ordered in two colors: Honey Gold and Teal. Honey

Gold offers an elegant contrast between the vibrant yellow and grain, while Teal boasts a jewel-like beauty with a depth that lies somewhere between green and blue. Both colors are primarily exclusive to the Private Stock lineup and are rarely used on non-Private Stock models.

The neck is crafted from figured maple in a color that matches the body, while the fingerboard is crafted from Indian rosewood.

The figured maple neck’s pronounced grain not only creates a beautiful appearance, but also delivers the bright, crisp tone characteristic of maple. The

Indian rosewood fingerboard features PRS’s iconic bird inlays, featuring Old School Birds inlays to indicate fingerboard positions.

The HSH pickup configuration—two McCarty III humbuckers in the treble and bass positions and a Narrowfield middle pickup—combined with a 5-way blade switch and a mini-toggle switch for the McCarty III pickup coil taps—creates 12 sound variations to suit any genre.

The McCarty III pickups incorporate all of the know-how Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Product Engineering team have accumulated over the years through product development, from extensive research into vintage pickups to refinements in pickup sound analysis and tuning techniques. The PRS McCarty III pickups are humbuckers inspired by vintage guitars, offering a warm, mellow vintage sound with a clear, singing tone. The Narwhal pickups suppress hum while delivering the bite characteristic of single-coils, creating a clear, powerful sound that cuts through an ensemble. Enjoy a

wide range of tonal versatility, from a thick, sweet sound with the tone control turned down to a sparkling sound with the control open. The included black paisley hard case, unlike the molded hard case typically included with the instrument, adds a touch of luxury to the instrument and enhances its ownership.
