At Ibanez, we believe that there is no basis for a guitar’s “good sound,” but rather the “sound you want.” We also believe that each part and design is not independent of each other, but that the sound character is defined by being in tune with each other, and that the sound you want can be obtained as a result. In order to achieve the “sound” desired by modern players, the AZ is filled with the DNA of guitar making that Ibanez has accumulated so far. The Ibanez AZ series is a new standard born from the fusion of modernity and experience, and the time and era.

Original hardware, a thorough setup, a neck grip that pursues a high-quality playing feel, and fret edge spherical processing. All of these are standard specifications for the Premium series, which is home to Ibanez’s commitment and craftsmanship.

■Hawaiian Koa top
The top material of the body is Hawaiian Koa, which creates a luxurious impression.

■AZ Oval C Roasted Maple neck
The neck material is made of heat-treated maple. Heat treatment can be expected to have effects such as shape stability, resistance to warping, water resistance, and resistance to temperature changes.
After several prototypes and verifications, we concluded that the best neck thickness was 20.5*22.5 (at 1F*12F).
The back of the neck is finished with a satin finish to provide a smooth playing feel.

■Ebony fretboard w/Jumbo Stainless Frets
The fingerboard has a radius of 305mm, which was arrived at through trial and error after several prototypes, including the combination with the neck, with the aim of not clogging the sound even when performing large-range choking, and not causing stress to the fingers and hands even when doing chord work. The fingerboard
material is ebony, which is characterized by its quick sound onset and rich sustain.
The frets are made of stainless steel with a crown height of 1.4mm/width of 2.7mm and Hv220. It features excellent maintenance, quick sound response, good separation when playing chords, and clear sound when playing notes. The jumbo size allows you to press the strings with a light touch, play fast passages, and perform smooth choking. ■DiMarzio® Air Norton™ / True Velvet™ / The Tone Zone® pickups The neck position
is equipped with the Air Norton™, which features a clear and warm sound, the middle position is equipped with the True Velvet™, which features a bright and low noise sound, and the bridge position is equipped with the The Tone Zone®, which features a balanced output from high to low ranges and a powerful sound. ■Gotoh® T1502 tremolo bridge This bridge is a new version of the Gotoh® 510 bridge, which is well-known as the definitive tremolo bridge by many players and brands, in collaboration with Ibanez and Gotoh®. The guitar features machined steel saddles and zinc die-cast inertia blocks that provide a good response and tight sound, and good separation of sound during chord work. The string pitch is a narrow 10.5mm spacing design, which allows players who use skipping and hybrid picking to easily pick across strings. The arm socket can also be used with Ibanez Edge tremolo arms and Ultra Light Tremolo Arms (carbon/UTA20/sold separately). The arm can be attached by snapping in, without having to turn it like with conventional arms. The arm torque adjust mechanism allows the arm angle to be fixed/released according to the player’s preference. In addition, the stud lock mechanism is also standard equipment, which contributes greatly to tuning stability and resonance by firmly fixing the studs with set screws embedded in the studs. The 2-point support floating allows for smooth arming and arm-up.
